Thaba Tseka police yesterday arrested a 29-year-old man who allegedly whipped his pregnant wife to dead. The suspect from Matebeleng Ha Nkofo accused his 17-year wife of cheating.

According to police reports, the suspect brutally assaulted the pregnant woman on Friday night and left her for dead. Later when the neighbours went to investigate the source of the screams at the couple’s home, they found the woman lying unconscious on the floor.

Police say the neighbours rushed the seriously injured woman to hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival. The suspect is expected to appear before the Thaba Tseka Magistrate’s Court as soon as police investigations have been completed.
