Acting High Court judge Justice Charles Hungwe will on August 8 conduct a pre-trial conference in a matter in which former minister of defence Ts’eliso Mokhosi and five police officers are charged with the murder of Police Constable Mokalekale Khetheng.

Justice Hungwe is one of the foreign judges engaged to hear high profile cases against members of the state security organs. He made the pronouncement on Tuesday. Khetheng who was based in Mokhotlong was allegedly murdered on March 26, 2016 in Ha Mokhalinyane, Maseru.

Mokhosi is charged along with former Police Commissioner Molahlehi Letsoepa, Senior Superintendent Thabo Ts'ukulu, Senior Inspector Mabitle Matona, Inspector Mothibeli Mofolo and Sub-Inspector Haleokoe Taasoane. Mokhosi was released on bail by the High Court while Letsoepa is in self-exile somewhere in South Africa. Ts’ukulu, Matona, Mofolo and Taasoane have been behind bars at the Maseru Central Prison since their arrest in 2017.
