LESOTHO is expected to participate at the Expo 2020 Dubai to be held by the United Arab Emirates from next month to March 2022.

This will be the third time the country participates at the global event where other 191 countries are expected.

According to the Lesotho National Development Corporation (LNDC) Public Relations Manager, Tiisetso Moremoholo, the Expo is intended to facilitate networking with international business, provide an international stage for engaging in cultural diplomacy such as exchange of ideas, information, art, language and other aspects of culture.
The objective, she said is also to protect environment by sharing sustainable solutions and practices amongst others.
Ms Moremoholo said since the Expo will attract a multitude of participants, Lesotho will be in a position to enjoy maximum global exposure and attract new investors in key economic sectors.

She noted that it allows international outreach and economic opportunities, thus the country will get an opportunity to promote and sell its products to visitors, negotiate business opportunities with other countries and secure international clients.
She further said it will enable Lesotho private sector to establish businesses in Dubai after the event, adding that for a period of two years, entrepreneurs from Lesotho will be offered low rent and free visa and secure orders from other countries. LeNA
