OUTGOING leader of the ruling All Basotho Convention (ABC), Motsoahae Thabane has wished luck to the top four executive members who are all vying for the position of the party leader.

The quartet includes Prime Minister Dr Moeketsi Majoro, Minister of Communications, Science and Technology - Sam Rapapa, former agriculture minister -Nkaku Kabi and MP Samonyane Ntsekele

The former Prime Minister who recently stepped down as ABC leader also wished all the runners a peaceful election, urging them to learn to accept defeat as some would lose the elections.

He further urged them to support the winner for the benefit of the party as well as the country, adding that in most cases, instability among party members affects the nation at large.
He said ABC members must elect their leader carefully, adding that the selection must be done with good intentions to rescue both Basotho and Lesotho in this economic crisis that has hit the world due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
He pleaded with his successor to remember the mandate of the ABC and carry out his duties efficiently.

“My stay in the party had long been overdue but I could not just leave due to some circumstances, I had to ascertain that the recruitment of young blood succeeds,” he said.

The position of the party leader, he said required someone who would toughen up when the going got tough.

“It requires someone who will not be afraid to seek wisdom elsewhere to help encourage and motivate his team,” he said.
