MASERU – The matter in which a former employee of the First National Bank (FNB) Lesotho is accused along with another man of stealing over M4 million from the bank resumed yesterday in the High Court after a long break.

Lehlohonolo Tsikinyane who is a former bank teller at FNB is charged together with Lehlohonolo ’Mote for the crime that allegedly occurred in Maseru on October 26, 2008. Initially, Tsikinyane and ’Mote were charged along with Sekhonyana Ntlhabo and his father Monaheng Ntlhabo as well as Lisema Ramokhoabane and Seemane Qhoai for the same crime.

But charges have since been withdrawn against both the Ntlhabo’s after they turned state witnesses. Both Ramokhoabane and Qhoai have since passed on. When the matter continued yesterday before Justice Ts’eliso Monaphathi, Monaheng Ntlhabo was expected to be cross examined after he gave his evidence-in-chief on June 21. But the cross examination was postponed to today after a misunderstanding between the both parties’ lawyers. The two accused are represented by King’s Counsel Motiea Teele while Advocate Mots’ei Tlali appears for the Crown.
