MASERU - The Lesotho National Wool and Mohair Growers Association (LNWMGA) is planning to stage a huge stay away on October 18 if some of its members’ concerns are not addressed by government.

According to the spokesperson of the association, Khotsang Moshoeshoe, the planned mass action would take place should the government press on with its stand as far as the regulations regarding the sale of wool and mohair are concerned. Moshoeshoe said: “Our aim is to come out in numbers peacefully as always to both Houses of Parliament to state our grievances.”

He said the association petitioned the government in June, asking the government to remove the Legal Notice No.65 of 2018 which prevented farmers from selling their fibre wherever they wished. The government, he showed, had not responded to their request hence the plan to hold another mass action.
