FIVE people tested positive for COVID-19 during a recent campaign in which 737 new tests were conducted.

Reports from the National COVID-19 Secretariat (NACOSEC) show that the country has a 10 728 cumulative number of positive cases. Information released on Sunday dated April 24 further shows that there are 6 267 recoveries, no related deaths recorded while the cumulative number remains at 316 from 77 329 tests. NACOSEC head of communications Baroane Phenithi has strongly urged members of the public to continue complying with World Health Organisation (WHO) COVID-19 regulations as the disease is still there although the rate of infection has decreased.
He said it is the responsibility of all people to joining in the fight against the pandemic, appealing to members of the public to continue wearing face masks, maintaining social distancing and avoiding crowded places.

He also warned them about the presence of the third wave of COVID-19 in other countries, emphasising the need to observe COVID-19 safety protocols at all times.
