THE arrival on Tuesday of a COVID-19 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) donation from Egypt in Lesotho serves as a sign of strengthened bilateral relations between both countries.

The consignment consisting of 1 845 sterilised gloves, 2 610 aprons, 1 056 face shields, 741 plastic gloves, 708 safety boxes and 222 plastic boots will be handy in the fight against the pandemic which has so far claimed 31 lives since its advent in Lesotho.

Accepting the donation, Deputy Minister of Health, Nto Moakhi said the noble act by the Egyptian government is indicative of strong bilateral relations between the two countries.

Mr Moakhi who was in the company of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Deputy Minister, Machesetsa Mofomobe thanked Egypt for the kind gesture which he said could not have come at a crucial time when Lesotho’s health professionals are in dire need of PPE.

The equipment, he said will soon be distributed to various health centres across the country especially those in desperate need of the gear
