BUDDING local stand-up comedian, Litabe Kotelo, better known as ‘Makhubelu’ is expected to leave audiences in stitches at a comedy session scheduled for Wella’s Park in St Monica’s, Leribe, on Saturday.

The much-anticipated show titled: Factory Summer Madness, basically organised as a closing party for factory workers in Maputsoe, will also feature heavy-duty famo artist, Sphaka along with up and coming local disc jockeys (DJs) such as DJ Shaker, DJ Darling K, and Dj Chacha.
This will be the second time that Kotelo performs at the venue. In 2019, he had the audience laughing its lungs out at the First Annual Comedy Night gig held at the same joint.
In the famous and brief ‘Makhubelu’ movies, Kotelo portrays a vicious rural woman who ill-treats her elderly and unemployed husband, “Seoelo”.

In real life, Kotelo is a down-to-earth and qualified high school male teacher who is actually quite modest.

Like the community influencer that he is, ‘Makhubelu’ who is a high school teacher, is a household name in the country. He normally celebrates his birthdays by visiting inmates at prisons around the country.

Advising the youth about following their dreams, Kotelo says it is imperative for them to move out of their comfort zone and discover their individual talents.

“You should learn to use your talents to your own advantage if you want to get far in life,” he says, adding however, that every road has its own challenges.
On several occasions, the talented entertainer has complained about being harassed by fans who accuse him of being gay because he impersonates a woman in his brief comedy films.
“’Makhubelu has talents she is yet to show to the world. What if you were to go to church and find her behind the piano playing soothing melodies? Lesotho’s new and rising comedian has many videos on YouTube, if you want to have a good laugh, download 'Makhubelu Part 3,” suggests a fan, ’Mamotena Sethoba from Maputsoe.

’Neko is no newcomer to the game and has played leading roles in the four Lilaphalapha comedy movies produced so far.
Famo musician Sephaka is expected to be in his best form on Saturday, much to the delight of the factory workers who are crazy about his music.

Sephaka climbed to the limelight after he released hit song titled, Lipapatlele that went viral.
