MASERU (TmgLive) – A businessman of Asian origin appeared before Magistrate Court after he was caught with bulks of rotten meat which he was about to sell to the people according to the police.

Mr Chen Jinson (32) who resides at Ha Hoohlo, Maseru was caught and dragged to court last week Thursday following his attempt to sell the meat suspected to be rotten to the buyers.bPolice spokesperson Inspector Mpiti Mopeli confirmed that the suspect whose business is called Shake Universal International had kept the rotten meat at his residential place and in his warehouse.

“The police found rotten meat in large quantities where this businessman is staying and in his warehouse. Police received a tip off that the meat was going to be washed, repackaged and then be taken back to the store shelves for sale,” Mopeli said. He said police further investigations established that the suspect has the machine he is using to wrap meat very well to look suitable and appetizing to the market. Mr Jinson was released and remanded out of detention on M500 bail and is expected to reappear before court on October 31.
