The matter in which the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) spokesperson Tuoe Hants’i is accused of threatening to shoot the acting commissioner will be will be heard by the Maseru Magistrate’s Court on August 29. This was confirmed earlier today by Prosecutor Qcqinimuzi Tshabalala after he, Hants’i and his lawyer, Advocate Rethabile Setlojoane met in chambers to set the hearing date.

It is alleged that on May 21, Hants’i, 47, of Ha Matala Phase II threatened to shoot acting IEC commissioner Lebohang Bulane by pointing a gun at him during an incident that occurred at the commission’s offices located at the MGC building in Maseru.

During his first appearance before court, Hants’i who was released on a M300 bail was ordered not to interfere with Crown witnesses, especially Bulane. The court also ordered him to attend remand hearings and stand trial to finality. The matter continues before Magistrate’Makopano Rants’o.
