Judge begs lawyers to come to court
Justice Onkemetse Tshosa
The accused include former army commander Lieutenant General Tlali Kamoli, Captain Litekanyo Nyakane along with Lance Corporals Motloheloa Ntsane and Leutsoa Motsieloa.
Justice Tshosa was concerned about the incessant absence of the defence lawyers in court, which he showed prompted proceedings to always be postponed.
“Next time they are not before court, crucial decisions about the matter will be taken without them,” he warned.
He added: “A defense lawyer who is confident about his defense will always want the case to proceed. Lawyers are guided by code of conduct, one of which is professionalism.”
The case was on Friday postponed to November 23, in order to allow the prosecution to join in two other accused following finalisation of the Clause 10 constitutional case which was one of the reasons behind most previous postponements of the main trial.
The five soldiers are accused of the murder of Sub –Insp Ramahloko during an incident that allegedly occurred at the police headquarters in Maseru on August 30, 2014.
The prosecution intents to join in the charge sheet former Deputy Prime Minister Mothetjoa Metsing along with leader of Movement for Economic Change (MEC), Selibe Mochoboroane.

Metsing is also the leader of Lesotho Congress for Democracy (LCD) while Mochoboroane is the Minister of Development Planning.
The two face charges of treason in relation to events that surround the murder of Ramahloko.
The charge was put on hold in February after Metsing and Mochoboroane had approached the Constitutional Court seeking immunity against prosecution based on their status as MPs.
The court on Friday however shot down their application hence their inclusion in the charge sheet.
