Judge wills M4million FNB theft case to end

JUSTICE Tšeliso Monaphathi is keen to see the matter in which M4million was stolen from the First National Bank (FNB) Lesotho in 2008 finalised before the August session of the High Court.

The judge on Friday said the case has been dragging for a long time, adding that many things have happened since it started.

Justice Monaphathi said he is no longer taking new trials as he is preparing to retire.

The case has been postponed to May 17-21.

The accused in the matter are Lehlohonolo 'Mote and Lehlohonolo Tsikinyane who is a former employee of the bank.

They are alleged to have stolen the M4 million on October 26, 2008.

They were initially charged together with Lisema Ramokhoabane and Seemane Qhoai, but the two have since died.
They were also charged together with Sekhonyana Ntlhabo and his son Monaheng, but charges against them were dropped after they turned state witnesses.
The accused are represented by KC Motiea Teele and Advocate Monaheng Rasekoai while the crown is represented by Adv Motšei Tlali. LeNA
