LESOTHO has allocated M17 million to the Ministry of Communications, Science and Technology for the implementation of digital migration project in the country.

This was announced by the Minister of Communications Sam Rapapa in Mokhotlong on Friday.
He said the digital migration simply means moving from analogue to digital broadcasting services adding that the platform will offer brighter pictures and quality sound on television.
Mr Rapapa said the allocated funds will be used mainly for the construction of towers countrywide and the procurement of set top boxes.

He urged chiefs and councilors who attended the event to encourage the public to move to digital broadcasting as it is cost effective.
He also appealed to Basotho to be innovative and use technology in order to improve their living conditions.
