Upon his arrival on Wednesday morning, he began by paying a courtesy call to His majesty King Letsie III in Matsieng, before coming to Maseru to exchange a few ideas on matters of mutual interest.
The visit further served as part of the ongoing meeting that President Masisi has been holding with his counterparts in the SADC region after assuming office to further strengthen relations and friendship between Botswana and other SADC countries.
“Lesotho is home away from home. I am here because I am a Motswana who is following in the traditions of his forefathers. It’s in keeping with this tradition that we are here. To review conditions of each other’s well-being as people and nation states.
“We are also here to advise one another on socio political situations, as well as update and enhance the friendship and the cooperation and solidarity for mutual benefit. In doing so, I beautifully paid my courtesy and respects to His Majesty King Letsie III before coming to Maseru to exchange a few ideas on matters of mutual interest,” Dr Masisi revealed during a short media briefing in Maseru on Wednesday.
He said he also came to talk to those that are charged with the management of affairs of Lesotho to remind each other of what it is that the two countries can do together.
