MASERU – The Minister of Finance Dr Moeketsi Majoro will on Wednesday be sworn-in as Prime Minister of the new coalition government between the All Basotho Convention ABC) and the Democratic Congress (DC).

Majoro who is also MP for the Thetsane Constituency was appointed by His Majesty as Prime Minister Designate to succeed Prime Minister Motsoahae Thabane whose coalition government has just collapsed.

Thabane officially stepped down on Tuesday.

The new coalition between ABC and DC will see Dr Majoro as the new premier of the transitional government to span the remainder of the 10th Parliament until the 2022 general elections.

Several other parties including the Movement for Economic Change (MEC), Popular Front for Democracy (PFD), National Independent Party (NIP), Basotho Congress Party (BCP), Democratic Party of Lesotho (DPL) and Marematlou Freedom Party (MFP), are also in support of the new ABC/DC union.
