Police spokesperson Supt Mpiti Mopeli
The 37-year-old man was arrested by the Qacha’s Nek police after his 18-year-old daughter confided in a hospital counselor about the sexual abuse she had been suffering at the hands of her own father.
The counselor tipped police about the incident, leading to the man’s arrest.
It later emerged police reports show that the victim who has a one and three-month-old child with her father’s friend had on Thursday last week refused to have sex with her father.

“The suspect then forced his daughter to go for an HIV test, saying she might have contracted the virus because she had lost a lot of weight,” police spokesperson Superintendent Mpiti Mopeli said.
The man, Supt Mopeli said had over the years been threatening his daughter not disclose the abuse.
“He is expected to appear before the Qacha’s Nek Magistrate’s Court sometime this week,” he told a press conference on Tuesday.
