MASERU – Leader of Movement for Economic Change (MEC, Selibe Mochoboroane along with his Lesotho Congress for Democracy (LCD) counterpart, Mothetjoa Metsing are expected to appear before the High on Thursday on charges of treason.

The two political leaders are charged together with the former army commander, Lieutenant General Tlali Kamoli and other soldiers for the same crime that allegedly occurred in Maseru on August 2, 2014.

Gen Kamoli is currently languishing in prison where he is awaiting trial for a litany of other charges he is facing, including several murder counts.

The accused on Tuesday last week appeared before the High Court where they were flanked by scores of members of both MEC and LCD.

Two days later, Mochoboroane and Metsing’s lawyer King’s Counsel Motiea Teele filed an application before the Constitutional Court in which he asked the court to intervene on behalf of his clients in respect of the preferred charges.
