Maseru – The Leader of the Movement for Economic Change (MEC), Mr. Selibe Mochoboroane says there is no hope of another meeting between him and the Prime Minister and Leader of the All Basotho Convention (ABC), Dr. Thomas Thabane. Mochoboroane said although he could not disclose the details of last Thursday's meeting, he is adamant that the matter he was called for was discussed to finality and he is not going to re-consider. He however refused to even say what the meeting was about, but reliable sources say there is a cabinet reshuffle looming and Mochoboroane was offered a ministerial position, which he declined. The sources also confirmed that the move was not to oust any of the coalition partners, but the PM had realised the potential of growth that Mr. Mochoboroane offer for the economy of the country. Dr. Thabane has also denied the allegations of him courting Mochoboroane to the coalition government, but admitted they met to discuss the future of the country. He said he needed Mochoboroane to tell him his plans for this country and what they could do together to help Lesotho, adding that he was fed up with cheap politics that does not improve the country, instead kills it slowly. Mr. Mochoboroane has held a number of Ministerial positions under the umbrella of the Lesotho Congress for Democracy (LCD) since Lesotho’s first coalition government in 2012. He was once fired from his position as Minister of Communications in the Thabane-led coalition government of 2012. He was the first Minister to resist dismissal until he was denied government security. After his security was taken away, Mr. Mochoboroane’s relations with the LCD Leader, Mr. Mothetjoa Metsing, and Deputy, Mr. Tšeliso Mokhosi,  became sour. Thereafter, he left the LCD to form the MEC in January 2017; five months later, Lesotho went for snap elections and the MEC managed to secure 5% of the votes and six seats in the National Assembly
