PM encourages LUCT graduates to focus on technology

PRIME Minister Dr Moeketsi Majoro has encouraged graduates at the Limkokwing University of Creative Technology (LUCT) to focus on the use of technology and become job creators.

He was speaking during the university’s virtual 10th graduation ceremony, which was held on Friday.

Dr Majoro further encouraged the graduates to be self-reliant and help build a sustainable socio-economy.

The government, he said recognises the socio-economic challenges such as youth unemployment, the country is facing, adding that the government is therefore working on policies aimed at addressing those challenges.
He acknowledged LUCT for its role in promoting technology in the country as well as in social cooperate responsibility, adding that the graduates have among others shown remarkable skill in the use of technology.
For his part, the founder of LUCT, Professor Tan Sri Dato Sri Paduka appealed to the graduates to contribute in the development of the world. He said soon they will be known for their work as they are the best in the world, adding that they will be the most celebrated game changers the country has ever seen.
Speaking on behalf of the graduates, Itumeleng Kubutu said formal learning has brought about discipline among them, adding that they have been exposed to the real world.

“We are equipped with skills and knowledge to make us the best in what we do. Let us all be resilient as the future is bright,” Miss Kubutu also said.
LUCT is an international university with a global presence across three continents. The institution has over 30 000 students coming from more than 150 countries, studying in its 12 campuses located in Botswana, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Lesotho, Malaysia, Swaziland and United Kingdom.
