PRIME Minister Dr Moeketsi Majoro left Lesotho on Tuesday to join other Heads of State and government for the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Extraordinary Summit scheduled for Maputo, Mozambique on Wednesday.

According to the Press Attaché at the Prime Minister’s office, Buda Moseme the summit, which will be preceded by senior officials meeting and ministerial session, will among others consider the regional response and support to the Republic of Mozambique in addressing terrorism.
He said it is also to see into the highlights on an update on COVID-19 pandemic at regional level as well the commemoration of SADC 40th anniversary.
Mr Moseme said Dr Majoro will be accompanied by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and International Relations, ’Matšepo Molise-Ramakoae and that of Defence and National Security, Halebonoe Setšabi as well as senior government officials.

He said the summit will review progress made in the implementation of this year’s theme, which was endorsed by the SADC summit in August, 2020.
The summit will be held under the theme, ‘40 Years Building Peace and Security and Promoting Development and Resilience in the Face of Global Challenges’. LeNA
