MASERU – The Minister of Police Lehlohonolo Moramotse who faces charges of illegally buying alcohol during the lock-down is expected to appear before the Maseru Magistrate’s Court later today.

Moramotse who spent Monday night in a police holding cell was released earlier today before he was taken to court.

Police spokesperson Superintendent Mpiti Mopeli said the minister handed himself to the police earlier on Monday.

Mopeli said police however, received a court order which instructed them to release Moramotse from detention.

Police pursued the minister with the intention to arrest him after a video footage made rounds on social media showing him as he bought alcohol at a local Chinese off-sales during the lock-down.
