MEHALALITOE forward, Boitumelo “Queen” Rabale is leading the goal scoring charts in the South African Hollywoodbets Super League with five goals in three matches after an impressive start to the new season with Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies.

The 25-year-old, who won a treble in her first year with Sundowns, which includes the inaugural edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League, started the new campaign with a bang bagging the Player of the Match award in a 2-1 victory over Ma-Indies Ladies three weeks ago.

“Queen”, as Rabale is popularly known, was once again among the goal-scorers as Sundowns walloped Golden Ladies FC 11-0 in their second match and this past weekend netted a hat-trick as the Hollywoodbets Super League defending champions ease past Durban Ladies with a 5-0 victory to make it three victories from their opening games.

“Yes, it was my plan to have a good start to the new season and I want to keep it that way to the very end of the campaign,” Rabale said on her impressive start.

With Sundowns Ladies having won every trophy on offer in the previous campaign, the Lesotho senior women’s national team captain said she would love to have another successful season with the Tshwane-based outfit.

“To be honest, I do not have a target of what I want to achieve, but I will be happy to have yet another successful season with my team,” the Lesotho international showed.

“My priority is to do well with my team and the individuals awards will come after.”

Rabale, who previously played for Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies and has also had spell in the United States of America, where she was on a football and academic scholarship, feels having pre-season with Sundowns is another reason for a good start to the new campaign.

She joined Sundowns last season and the club had at the time already played four league games.

“Pre-season is very important to any football and yes, it played a vital part in me having a good start,” she said.

The Brazilians are in action again on Wednesday as they welcome City Lads at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Tshwane. They are at the summit of the Hollywoodbets Super League with nine points from three games having scored a whopping 17 goals.
