It is expected that textile workers across the board shall have their salaries increased this month, this is after publication of Government Gazette Wages Order. The Independent Democratic Union of Lesotho (IDUL) Representative, Mei Rathakane, when confirming the good news said workers earning M2000.00 shall get six percent increase while those under M2000.00 will get 12 percent salary hike. “Now that the Gazette has been published before the 20th, workers will get this money by the end of this month. All employers are expected to oblige to the said law as it is binding,” he said. He noted that though this is a positive move, it is worth noting that those getting six percent are unhappy as they were initially promised 10 percent raise earlier. He revealed: “They (unions) will be talking to unhappy employees to try and solve the matter. I wish all workers a joyous Easter holidays.” Lena
