MASERU - Ritual murder convict, Lehlohonolo Scott will spend the rest of his days behind bars after the High Court on Tuesday slapped him with two life sentences.

Scott was sentenced together with his mother, ’Malehlohonolo who received a 10-year jail term although the court suspended three years of the sentence.

The Scotts of Koalabata in Berea were earlier this year convicted of the 2012 ritual murders of their two young male neighbours, Moholobela Seetsa and Kamohelo Mohata.

Lehlohonolo was also found guilty of escaping from the Maseru Central Prison after his arrest later that year.

’Malehlohonolo was found guilty of aiding her son after he murdered Mohata.

Justice Teboho Moiloa, however, acquitted ’Malehlohonolo of Seetsa’s murder after the court could not find enough evidence linking her to the crime.

Handing down the long awaited verdict, Judge Moiloa had said among others, Scott volunteered to point out locations where the deceased’s body parts were later found.

He said after his detention, evidence shows that Scott was assisted to escape from prison by men who were dressed in black and had their faces covered with balaclava hats.
