MASERU – Four soldiers who allegedly clubbed a Qacha’s Nek woman to death with a spade are expected to reappear before the Maseru Magistrate’s Court on October 7.

The accused who included Corporal Motsieloa, 47, Private Koloti, 31, Private Moeti and Private Choachoa, 25, made their initial appearance before the same court on Wednesday.

It is alleged that the quartet shared a common intention to club ’Mamoleboheng Besele to death with both a spade and whips during an incident that occurred in Ha Molomo, Qacha’s Nek on February 28, 2016.

The accused who appeared before Magistrate Senekane Qobolo were instructed to seek legal representation of their choice and apply for bail at the High Court.

The court then issued an order for their detention at the Maseru Central Prison where they are to remain pending their trial.

The Crown which is represented by Advocate Thulo Hoeane has since lined up a total of 10 witnesses who will testify against the accused when the matter commences.
