FORMER All Basotho Convention (ABC) MP for the Stadium Area constituency Mokherane Tsatsanyane says he is joining the Democratic Congress (DC).

The former Deputy Minister of Transport is currently a member of the Alliance of Democrats (AD) after he ditched the ruling ABC in 2020.

Mr Tsatsanyane said he is leaving AD and will officially cross in the National Assembly on Wednesday, after which he will be presented to his new party’s National Executive Committee (NEC).
He said his leaving the AD emanates from his constituency committee’s reluctance to issue him and his followers with membership cards since he joined the party.
He went on to deny allegations that he is leaving the AD to become the new leader of notorious famo music group 'Terene', after the outfit’s founding leader Rethabile Mokete better known as Mosotho Chakela died at a Bloemfontein hospital earlier this year.

The late Chakela who was initially a great supporter of ABC and its leader Motsoahae Thabane before their relations soured had also defected to the DC.
Asked to comment on the matter AD Secretary General Dr Mahali Phamotse, denied knowledge of the move as there are procedures to follow for an MP to cross. LeNA
