MASERU – A 37-year-old Matšeliso Agnes Lephoto has been arrested for being found in possession of counterfeit money.

She faces 10 years in prison mprisonment after failing to pay a M2 000 fine imposed on her by the Botha-Bothe Magistrate Court last week Thursday.

According to the police Lephoto was visiting her relatives at Baroeng, Botha-Bothe when on October 7 she was nabbed at a local supermarket where she was buying some goods using the same money.

“Bank notes to the value of R4 100 were found in her person, and it is suspected she had planned to use the entire money in the country buying goods,” Superintendent Mpiti Mopeli has said.
