MASERU – Congregants from all local churches could not wait to return to their respective places of worship on Sunday after they were given the green to resume regular church services.

This is per the announcement made recently by Prime Minister Dr Moeketsi Majoro that in the purple stage that Lesotho is currently in, services like church operations can resume but with limited number of congregants involved.
Church services were barred during the previous orange stage which saw the country undergoing threatening COVID-19 infection rate.
With the current stage, however, comes regulations restricting congregant numbers to a total of 50 in indoor church services and 100 for outdoor services.

Basotho are still required to observe the necessary protocols such as hands washing with soap and running water, wearing of face masks, sanitizing and maintaining a safe physical distance.
Some churches will however resume services next week as they are currently engaged in final logistical arrangements to ensure that all necessary protocols are upheld.
