MASERU - Econet Premier league reigning champions Bantu regret their past early exit and have promised to avoid a repeat in the current Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions league where they have been pitted against Botswana's Township Rollers.

Bantu will be visiting Township Rollers in the first leg to be played on November 27 or 28 while the return leg will be played at Setsoto stadium on December 5 this year. According to Bantu Communications and Marketing Manager (CMM) Mr. Bokang Phasumane “this time around we are ready to go beyond the preliminary stage at the expense of Botswana's Township Rollers although it will not be easy.” “Our technical team is already working on our opponents as Township Rollers is a strong team especially at home,” he stated. However, Mr. Phasumane said the good thing this time around is that Bantu will be playing away first on the first leg before hosting their opponents on the return leg ‘to finish them off’.

When asked about how it will be possible this time when Bantu lost their home game against Swaziland's Mbabane Swallows in the last season of the competition although it managed to win away in eSwatini, he said the difference then was that they had only three international experienced players, Litsepe Marabe, while the rest were new but managed to adapt quickly as they managed to beat their opponents away. Mr. Phasumane said they have retained majority of the players who featured against Mbabane Swallows and they know what to expect when playing such games.

“We have requested to play against Bloemfontein Celtic on November 17 in Bethlehem as the only game for us to prepare,” he said. Mr. Phasumane said the club's management has already arranged buses for supporters to Botswana at the cost of M500,00 which will be payable until next Friday in order to determine the number of buses to be hired. Bantu were eliminated by eSwatini's Mbabane Swallows in an away goal rule after losing the first leg 4-2 at Setsoto stadium only to win the away leg 3-1 played at Somhlolo stadium. In the contrary, Botswana's Township Rollers reached the CAF Champions’ league group stages together with Mbabane Swallows.
