DSTV Premiership side Chippa United, have suspended their head coach and former Lesotho international Lehlohonolo Seema, according to South African media reports.

The Chilli Boys as the club is popularly known among its supporters have had a difficult start to the 2020/2021 season, registering just one victory in eight matches.

They lost their last three matches with the recent being the 3-1 defeat at the hands of Benni McCarthy’s Amazulu over the weekend.

According to reports, the owner of the club, Sivive Mpengesi told Seema about his suspension through an email sent on Tuesday night.

But his future with the club will be decided in a board meeting scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.

“We write to you under strenuous circumstances for the club, where in the current season there are no victories for the club and a string of three defeats in a row, most recently to Amazulu FC,” the email said.

“The results under your tenure are an extreme cause for concern and need immediate addressing in line with your contract of employment and more particularly those pertaining to performance.

“Having stated the above, kindly be informed that the shareholders and board have called an urgent meeting to deliberate on the matter.”

The statement added: “Pending the outcome of such deliberations, kindly excuse yourself from all formal duties including any further training sessions with immediate effect.”

Attempts to get a comment from Seema on the matter were unsuccessful as his phone was unavailable.
