LIKUENA head coach Thabo Senong has declined to identify the players who reportedly misbehaved during the Three-Nation tournament held in Maputo, Mozambique last week.

Senong told a press briefing at the Bambatha Tšita Sports Arena on Wednesday that as a coach, his role is to protect his charges even though he does not condone misconduct among players.

He however, showed that Thabo Matšoale of Matlama FC stole a sum of M1 400 from the Team Manager’s hotel room.

Senong agreed that it is humanly possible for me to make mistakes in life, adding he is willing to give the players a chance to change.

He explained that there was a group of players who were caught smoking dagga at camp in Maputo.
He further agreed that the misconduct could have influenced the results that led to Likuena being thumped 5-0 by Mozambique in the opening game and going down 1-0 against eSwatini in the final match of the competition.

The coach said all the concerned players have no future in the national team, promising to leave them out of the COSAFA squad.
The stolen money, it emerges was later recovered from the suspect.
