FORMER national coach and long-running LDF mentor, Mafa ‘Ribbo’ Ramakau passed away over the weekend from an undisclosed illness, the Lesotho Football Association (LeFA) has announced.

A media statement released on Monday by the association says the late coach who had a long coaching career in Lesotho's top flight football, which started in the late 70s, spanning over three decades had a successful career.

As one of the most decorated coaches in the country, he enjoyed a lot of success with LDF, LCS, Mazenod Swallows and LMPS.

''We salute this icon for his contribution in the development of football in the Mountain Kingdom, His legendary status will live forever,'' LeFA statement says.

LeFA has sent out its condolences to the Ramakau family as they mourn the legendary coach, wishing the family strength and comfort in this difficult time.
