The continental soccer governing body Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed and released dates for the African Nations Championships (CHAN) whose finals will be played in Ethiopia next year. In a press statement released by the Lesotho Football Association (LeFA), CAF released the dates of the CHAN 2020. The release says Lesotho's (Likuena) has been fixtured to play South Africa (Bafana Bafana) at Setsoto stadium during the weekend of the July 26 to 28 this year while the return match will be played during the weekend of August 2 to 4 in South Africa.

“We will keep you informed on any developments in due course,” the release underscored. Meanwhile, LeFA Secretary General       Mokhosi Mohapi said in the release that preparations for the final qualifier match of the 2019 CAF AFCON which will be played in Cape Verde on Sunday March 24 this year are still on going. He said Likuena Head Coach Moses Maliehe would name the final squad during the course of the week prior to the team's departure to South Africa where the team would spend a week at a High Performance training centre facility before jetting out to Praia, Cape Verde on March 24. When approached for comment, Likuena Team Manager Rantsubise Matete said the reason Likuena and Bafana Bafana would start the CHAN tournament at the second round and not the first round was due to their current rankings at the previous regional Council of Southern Africa Football Association (COSAFA) Cup.

He said for the three consecutive years, Likuena reached the COSAFA Cup quarter final or semi-final which CAF has since considered hence starting the CHAN tournament at the next round. Lesotho's senior national soccer squad, Likuena (the Crocodiles) has been
pitted in a tricky draw against Bafana Bafana at the Total African Nations Championship (CHAN) Ethiopia 2020 conducted in Cairo, Egypt.
The draw for the qualifiers of the Total CHAN Ethiopia 2020 was held on the sidelines of the Organising Committee of the competition last year. CHAN is being played by only local based players who do not play for any foreign team abroad.
