MEHALALITOE star striker Litšeoane Maloro has been withdrawn from the squad that is traveling to the COSAFA Women’s Championship after suffering an ankle injury in training on Thursday.

The Lesotho Football Association (LeFA) announced the setback on Friday night and that Maloro has been replaced by ’Maseeiso Mphubelu from Basetsana United ahead of the women’s championship that gets underway in Port Elizabeth from November 3-14.

The Bloemfontein Celtic forward is among a group of Mehalalitoe stars plying their trade outside the country and was expected to play a key role at the tournament.

She moved to South Africa after signing for Celtic Ladies in 2019 and hit the ground running at her new club scoring important goals before football activities were suspended due to the Corona virus.

Mehalalitoe will commence their COSAFA campaign in Group B against Zambia on October 4 before playing Malawi three days later.
