FORMER Orlando Pirates assistant coach Tebogo Moloi has joined Linare FC as their new head coach for the next two seasons.

Moloi had been without a club for the past season after he left Chippa United in the 2017/18 season.

The former Pirates dribbling wizard was unveiled as Tse- Tala’s new head mentor last week, replacing Freeze Ntene who left earlier this year.

Moloi said he intends to one day take the Leribe-based giants to major continental competitions like the CAF Champions League so that Lesotho can have more than one slot in the competition.

“It is a long story (how I ended up here), the club’s president Refiloe Martins is someone who loves Pirates, so I have been attending their games before corona,” he said.

He described Linare as a big team in Lesotho with a rich history of winning.

“They have always been winning, it is just that they haven’t qualified for the Champions League,” he said.

Established in 1930, the team is one of the oldest football clubs playing in Lesotho’s elite league.
