The Arch Deacon to the Ordinary for St. Mary and St. James Cathedral of Anglican Church of Lesotho (ACL) has shot down allegations that the church’s Bishop Adam Mallane Taaso has been discharged from hospital.

Arch Deacon Thabiso David Sengoai made the statement earlier today after a certain group of the society made allegations that the bishop who has been hospitalised for two months in South Africa was recently discharged. “Our Bishop has not been discharged yet, he is still in a South African hospital fighting for his life, however, there is hope that all shall be well,” Sengoai said.

He said Taaso was admitted in hospital after suffering a major stroke that has left him incapable of speaking and walking. He said the church is however, considering to admit him in a local hospital with the hope that the familiar environment would help him to speedily recover. “He has been away for far too long and we believe changing the environment can make a difference, however, only his doctors can ok that,” he said. In Taaso absence, the Dean of St. Mary and St. James, Father Tanki Mofana has taken over as Verger General, thus undertaking the church’s administrative issues.
