Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) divers have recovered a body of a 27 year-old Lerotholi Polytechnic goal keeper who allegedly drowned in Mohokare river last week. According to information from Lieutenant Colonel (Lt.Col) Mashili Mashili, Lebohang Foko’s body was found in Mafeteng, in the area of Ha Thoahlane, where Tsoaing river joins Mohokare. The divers, Mashili explained, swam down the stream and spotted an object which they believed was a human body, and was confirmed so by villagers who then assisted the divers to get it out of the water. Superintendent Mpiti Mopeli, Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), said although the police are yet to request a post-morterm the body does not have any wounds. He also indicated that it does show signs of decomposition, though he could not give more details on that. Foko is reported to have drowned while trying to find and or collect a soccer ball they were playing with, which is reported to have skipped and rolled to the river. LDF’s search began on March 21.
