Lesotho Motor Clinic (LMC) Midas Lesotho has cautioned motorists that there are fraudsters mobilizing members of the public under false pretence that they are LMC Midas Borokhoaneng employees, cleaning car engines for free. The company's Managing Director Lily Huang said it had only come to their attention on Monday morning. “However, we have not yet received a formal report. We have just seen the allegation going viral on social media.” She said: “The culprits are reported to be wearing Midas T-Shirts. It is reported they last seen driving a green Toyota Noah car. Our staff members are provided with uniform (t-shirts) at the beginning of every year. But we do not have mobile staff who clean engines. All of our services are provided at the store. We are going to report the matter to the police for investigations.”

She warned: “Motorists should not to permit those fraudsters to clean their car engines. Their only intention is to damage peoples’ vehicles by stealing their catalytic converters.” A large group of gangsters is alleged on social media to have arrived at certain households in Naleli, in the northern outskirts of Maseru claiming to be LMC Midas Lesotho employees offering free engine cleaning services. Lesotho Motor Clinic Midas is an automotive company that provides automotive spares, body parts, paint, accessories and general tools.
