Construction of mining town on track
Prime Minister Dr Moeketsi Majoro
A sod-turning ceremony for the construction led by Prime Minister Dr Moeketsi Majoro was held in November 2020.
In spite of the evident delay in the actual construction work, Mr Monaheng said everything is still on track, adding that the company had been waiting for the borders to open in order in order for their partners from Dubai to arrive in the country before the operations begin.
Paramount Equipment Lesotho is a Basotho owned company that has joint efforts with its partners from other African countries to invest and provide professional engineering and technical services in the country.
Mr Monaheng said the new town will comprise a workshop where repairs and servicing of equipment used in mining operations will be done as well as a training centre to provide mechanical skills for Basotho.
