MAFETENG - Akofang Makaota Dairy Cattle Farmers Association will meet the National Dairy Board (NDB) on May 24 to discuss the possibility of producing quality milk in Lesotho. The Association's Chairperson, Mr. Adam Khalala said the activity is aimed at discussing production of quality milk and the marketing of related dairy products within the local market.

He said members of the Association would also have an opportunity to meet with the newly elected National Dairy Board members so as to discuss the best ways of improving production of milk. Mr. Khalala indicated that for a long time, since 2012, members of the Association have lost hope on their business due to poor performance of the NDB.

He said the other objective of the meeting would be to motivate the newly elected National Dairy Board members to revive the spirit of members of the association to continue rearing quality dairy cattle that would produce more milk. Akofang Makaota Dairy Cattle Farmers Association was established in 2004 with the aim of fighting hunger and poverty while at the same time creating jobs for unemployed members of the community. Lena
