ADVENTURE travel has become considerably more accessible with action to suit thrill-seekers of all skills and fitness levels.

Recently, the Liphakoe Mountainous Tours (LMT) Adventures has decided to spice things up to ensure that adventurers spent their weekends doing things they have never done before.

The outfit started its local operations as a tour company in 2017. Along the way, it began to put together adventure activities and that is where the LMT Adventures name came from.

Among other activities which the company provides, include hiking, archery, abseiling and rap jumping.

The founder and Managing Director of LMT Adventures, Dumisani Mkhondwane says there are many ways to enjoy outdoor activities.

He says for instance, one can get out in the fresh air to enjoy the views, which seems like can constantly make any day better.

“Set your horizon beyond the norm and ask yourself, have I got what it takes to go on an adventure holiday? Offering so much more than the traditional fly flop and flop getaway, adventure holidays can encompass a huge range of sports, outdoor activities, cultural experiences, tours and excursions meaning choice is only limited by imagination and appetite for adventure.

“So what can one expect from an adventure holiday? Intrigue, cultural discoveries, mystery and excitement are all on the cards as they plunge into the unknown.

“Many people realise happiness is a choice and it is up to them to intentionally choose it every single day. Happy people are also not held hostage by their circumstances and they do not seek happiness or possessions,” he says.

Sometimes, he notes that people find themselves stuck in a rut where their weekends are centred on the same activities or doing the same thing every single weekend.

These, Mr Mkhondwane says they do because they had realised that many people travel to South Africa for adventure activities that can also be provided locally.

He says they target such individuals and foreign tourists who frequent the country for adventure purposes.

“We are well aware that that most adventure companies target international travellers as well as middle class people and those who do not afford the whole branching of travelling and that is when we decide to close the gap and make people aware that travelling is a possible thing for everyone.”

The main reason to take on an adventure holiday he says is to get out of one’s comfort zone and see how far they can really go.

He notes that so far, they have managed to accommodate every class, no matter how sophisticated the situation, adding that they are able to provide people with great experience to enjoy the activities at an international standard.

As LMT Adventures, their wish is to become the number one adventure company in Lesotho and be able to compete at an international level, provide more adventure activities that are scary and funny at the same time.

“Again, we want to see domestic traveling becoming one of the most lucrative sources of economy in Lesotho, and we believe that the best way to do that is by providing more adventure activities to people, so that they can be motivated to travel” Mr Mkhondwane also says .
