ONE of South Africa’s top female disc jockeys, Lamiez Holworthy, is expected to make a second appearance in Lesotho at the Sparkling Sunday bash scheduled for June 6 at the Maseru Club.

Born in Pretoria in 1992, Lamiez, is not only a DJ of note but is also a sensational radio and television personality best known for hosting a popular music show titled “Live Amp” on SABC1.

The businesswoman who has taken the world by storm last visited Lesotho in December 2020, to perform at The Hangover (All White Edition) event, held at the Thaba-Bosiu Cultural Village alongside the likes of DJ Sumbody of the Amapiano music fame.

Lamiez was in 2019 rated the second best female DJ in SA, and one of the top 100 in the world, for four years running. The year 2020, marked a decade the talented artiste started her illustrious career.

Sharing the stage with the tattooed entertainer who is married to SA hip-hop star Chuli Khana, will be Djs; Tseko, Bootz, Mtsuzi, Khebza, Saucy and versatile singer Juvy oa Lempara, amongst others, all from Lesotho.

“Come June 6 and catch the freshest DJs who will bring wonderful grooves which will take the dull out of your weekend. With this lineup of entertainers all I can promise is fireworks. The game is on and revelers are going to party up a storm in Maseru,” Dj Tseko, the managing director of Kuna Sounds who are organisers of the gig, told Metro.

The bash will also feature ’Mapaseka Koetle as a guest celebrity. Koetle is an SA actress popularly known for her role as Dintle Nyathi on eTV soapie – Scandal.

The 32-year-old actress from Bloemfontein has achieved a milestone since she set out in her acting career.

She obtained acting qualifications in 2011 from City Varsity and four years later she received the Best Support Actress of Royal Sopie award.

“Dintle (’Mapaseka) is such a beautiful woman that no man would pass her without giving her a second look,” this is one of the reasons I’m preparing to attend the gig no matter how the weather will turn out to be,” says reveler Tebello Khoesi.

Sponsors of the fun-packed gig include Bokamoso FM, Vodacom Lesotho, Eagle Group, Linford Vodka and last but not least Pick ’n Pay – where the tickets to the show can be purchased.  

There are also tickets to be won in a competition that will run on Bokamoso FM radio station prior to the show.
