Covid-19 surfaces in Commercial Court
Commercial Court services will now be offered at the High Court
This emerged in a statement released on Sunday by the Registrar of the High Court and Court of Appeal.
The statement shows the employee is based in the Commercial Division of the High Court.
The judiciary has therefore temporarily suspended all its services on the premises of the Commercial Court from July 20 – 26.
The statement further shows that all staff at the Commercial Court premises will undergo a compulsory 14-day self-quarantine.
They will be expected to follow the Ministry of Health and World Health Organisation (WHO) protocols on self-quarantine for the duration of that period.

The statement also shows that the Ministry of Health authorities will engage in contact tracing of members of staff of the Commercial Court on Monday, July 20 which shall include testing of members of the staff.
It says the designated services of the Commercial Court will be offered at the main High Court premises for the duration of the temporary closure.
It states that the Commercial Court will partially open with scaled-down services from Monday, July 27 until the contact tracing is complete with only a selected skeleton staff available for duty.
The court users have been assured of the continued commitment to an excellent, professional and seamless service, despite this setback.
