“Miss DC mantle changed my life.”
Miss Democratic Congress, Queen Bongiswa Hesman
The 25-years-old beauty hails from Qacha’s nek, where her battle for the converted crown began during the district level pageants. Hesman told this reporter she has harboured the passion for modelling from the tender age of 10, and has pursued her passion until now.
She says she has been in modelling since time immemorial, and she feels at home in the trade for it feels more like a hobby and a talent at the same time.
Hesma said with this win she forecasts a bright future for herself because “modelling has never given me return until today, it has never been paying; but now it puts food on the table to feed my whole family.”

She advised aspiring beauty to follow their dreams, be go-getters and dispel fear in whatever undertaking they faced. She indicated she adored the trade because it teaches women wisdom, courage and gives them a platform to have a voice in a society.
She sang praises for the massive support she received from people in her Qacha’s nek district, in particular family and friends.
“The main pageant was itself challenging and interesting, but as a field I traversed before all it brought was excitement to meet another challenge head-on for such challenges have made me the strong woman I am today,” she said.
“The eventual victory is, however, humbling,” she continued.
“Because fear does not come from God, He has given His people the spirit of courage so that they should go by the dictates of fear…but to take flight and pursue their dreams,” she said.
At the moment Hesman also has under her belt the Miss Qacha’s nek, the Face of Lesotho, Miss Queen of Lesotho, Miss Heritage Lesotho (under which she went to India for the Miss Heritage International pageant), the Miss DC Qacha’s nek.
She was also the face and Lesotho Television for Lesotho’s 50th Independence celebrations.
