LIOLI FC and Berea Ladies have sealed a partnership in soccer development with a view to promote and appreciate women in football.

The signature of the deal was held at the Teyateyaneng Lesotho Evangelical Church of Southern Africa (LECSA) premises last week.

Speaking at the event, Lioli President Lebohang Thotanyana said bringing Berea Ladies on board will contribute towards promoting the development of women football and appreciating the role women play in the sport.

He said this is the beginning of a new journey of support to Berea Ladies, further urging the ladies to feel at home as they are now part of the big Lioli FC family.
During the same event, Thotanyana also handed over a brand new soccer jersey to Berea Ladies, suggesting that they use the outfit for their training sessions.
Sharing similar sentiments, Berea Ladies head coach Lekhooa Thabaneng said the day marks a milestone of development in the team, adding that it was an honour for them to be in partnership with Lioli FC.

He said securing sponsorship for the team has been a huge challenge since its establishment a few years ago, adding however, that certain individuals have been providing a lot of support to the club in various ways.

Speaking on behalf the Lioli FC family, Chief Seeiso Masupha said he was content to see such unity amongst Lioli after the team went through a rough patch in the past.

He said it was time to forget the troubled past and focus on the future as well as the development of their two beloved teams – Lioli and Berea Ladies.

“I am most grateful to see women football being incorporated into Lioli because that is a clear indication of progress. These young ladies deserve all the assistance they can get from us and that can only happen if we work together,” Chief Masupha also said.
