MASERU - The reigning Lesotho National Insurance Group (LNIG) Top 8 champions, Matlama have been unceremoniously bundled out of the lucrative cup through a 1-0 aggregate beating by LMPS.

This after Matlama and LMPS played to a goalless draw in the second leg at Setsoto stadium on Saturday.

Simunye scored an away goal in the first leg played at the DIFA stadium in Maputsoe.
Failure by Matlama to score at home means the Mighty Blues will not be able to defend their title.

Lioli also bowed out of the tournament after losing to LDF following a 1-0 beating by the army side in the second leg also played at Setsoto stadium.
Liphakoe were also been kicked out of the competition after going down 2-0 in the second leg by LCS.
Kick4Life were also sent packing following a 3-2 loss at the hands of Bantu in the second leg played away in Maputsoe at the DIFA stadium.
The top four finalists include Bantu, LDF, LCS and LMPS.

Premier League Management Committee (PLMC) spokesperson, Moeketsi Ramakatsa said the LNIG Top 4 cup final will be played later this month.
The overall winner of the competition will pocket M100, 000 with final losers taking home M80, 000 while third and fourth placed teams will win M60,000 and M50,000 respectively with the four quarter final losers each getting M30,000 for having taken part at the tournament.
All the under 17 teams from the LNIG Top 8 teams will also lock horns to determine the M10,000 first prize winner and the teams will also get a new set of jersey.
There will also be individual prizes for the outstanding players such as the top goal-scorer, goalkeeper of the tournament, coach of the tournament, referee of the tournament, assistant referee of the tournament and man of the match from each of the four matches played.
