MASERU - The Ministry of Trade and Industry in collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) - Southern Africa Trade and Investment Hub will launch the National African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) Response Strategy during an event to be held in Maseru on Wednesday.

According to the ministry's information officer Lihaelo Nkaota, the strategy is aimed at addressing the challenges pertaining to Lesotho's use of the AGOA preference and provide a comprehensive plan to increase exports from Lesotho to the United States.
Ms Nkaota said through technical assistance from USAID Southern Africa Trade and Investment Hub, the ministry had completed the process of reviewing the Lesotho’s AGOA Response Strategy.

The AGOA Response Strategy was supposed to have been launched in November but was postponed due to activities in relation to the national reforms that the government is involved in.
