THE late former army commander Major General Metsing Lekhanya was a true soldier who will be remembered for his exceptional leadership skills by those worked closely with him, Prime Minister Dr Moeketsi Majoro said.

Dr Majoro made these remarks passing condolences on the behalf of the government to the Lekhanya family on the passing of both Major General Lekhanya and his wife Sophia ’Masebitsa.

The two died within three days of each other at the Makoanyane Military hospital last week.

The former army chief died on January 20 after a short illness while ’Me ’Masebitsa passed away on Saturday January 23.

''Our thoughts and prayers are with their family at this time of loss,'' Dr Majoro said.
