The theme of the event is, ‘Leaders never give up’. According to the association’s senior psycho-social support officer, Felleng Lethola, the purpose of the event is to show appreciation to Help Lesotho for the steps it takes to improve people’s lives. Lethola further showed that the event was initiated by Help Lesotho beneficiaries, who graduated from different programmes, including the Child Sponsorship Programme, Leaders in Training, Computer and Life Skills and Girl4CE programmes.
The event she also noted is different from the Alumni event in that it was initiated by the beneficiaries and not Help Lesotho. Some of the beneficiaries she said are now at tertiary level, others work as doctors while most are seeking employment and business opportunities.
